The Sinister Chain Poem by Khairul Ahsan

The Sinister Chain

Rating: 5.0

Ego, false vanity and self pride
Provoke contempt and disrespect,
That, in no time turns into malice,
Malevolence, envy and spite,
Which in turn kindles our anger.

Anger swallows up our sense
And burns all our good deeds
And our souls
Into ashes.

Only phoenix can reincarnate
From ashes;
Human souls cannot.

A wonderful poetic resume' of the worst within us! If only more people would realize the destructive effects of hate and anger, a better place this would be. You can't redeem your soul once burned by destructive hate, And yet, evil is practised over ad over again to the detriment of so many. A fantastic poem that says so much with very few but selected words. Exceptional!

You are right that anger diminishes intellect and sallows our sense. Even if it burns our all good virtues. In Shrimad Bhagavad Geeta Chapter - 2, Shloka No 63 it has been well illustrated...Krodhat bhavati samihah, samohat srmuti bibhramah / Smruti bhransad buddhinasho buddhinasat pranashyati. At the end it can take to death. A marvelous poem with lofty theme.10
