Today On My Dad's Birthday!
For My Dearest Daddy,
whose birthday is today,
he is not in his own house,
but in God's house,
I want to congratulate my dad,
but there are other events today:
the Northern Equinox, World Poetry Day, the beginning of spring and more,
but most of all
his birthday!
I still miss him every day
I hope he reads what I write here:
Congratulations, dear Dad! I miss you everyday!
I miss your stage performances
and all other artistic pursuits that occupy you,
our nice trips to Ragusa, the ice cream parlour in Jakarta,
because there are always traffic jams, we just go by bike,
mommy can never go with us,
because of her phobias,
and in such a super mega capital she prefers to stay at home,
Dad feels safest when Mom stays at home
I see daddy cutting his beautiful fruitcake,
what makes mommy happiest, she's the big baker!
