Blamed for being honest, Isn't this unfair?
Honesty the best policy, Yet cold hearted stares.
Did you not want the truth, Your eyes were asking?
Now blamed for being honest, when my heart was truly giving.
Honesty can hurt, yet deep down inside...
You know it may stop future pain, being taken for a ride
Sometimes friends are not friends and can stab so hard
They've opened up their door and you've let down your guard.
Pain can cut holes, through bricks, through glass...
Yet just knowing you were honest... The Pain... Will Pass.

Dear Lyn, you are right, and I do agree. Honesty is a great virtue in life and even if it is, it also demands sacrifice. One can encounter sorrows or pain from being honest because there is also the opposite power that tries to hide or imprison honesty in tthe light. But the conviction of one's honesty enables one to bear any amount of pain...It surely will pass. Very good creation from your pen, Lyn. Thanks for writing this.
Now, I'm not going to lie, I really like this, honest...... Well put together, if asked whether they ever lie, most people will lie about it!
A wonderful poem encapsulating the TRUTH and its after effects. I love the way you have presented.KUDOS.!
Lyn the eternal dilemma to be honest or not, because the infidels are ever successful. However honest is the greatest reward... congrats by dr riza
Honest attitudes, gestures are so precious, even though sometimes you may not be understood in a fair way. One must never repent from being honest. Thanks for sharing your feelings! Good luck! Maria
You are ever so correct in your assessment. Honesty- truth- often does hurt and terribly so, but honesty from a friend will always mend, making us stronger and forgetting the pain, while honesty, even though true, from an enemy may mend, but will always leave a scar in our minds and in our hearts...I prefer the truth I wish not to hear, rather than the lie that sounds sweet and dear...Well said...
A wonderful write with a punchy little message! Yes I do prefer honesty! Bit only when asked for though! Lol. Cheers Lyn
