He's waiting to die
there are no more tears to cry
only months, days, hours, minutes
To share life with those who are in it
Life's shadow hides his sun
It is imminent the ending will soon come

Your poem makes me think that there are two ways to spend one's last days; one would be to be alone and isolated, and the other way is to have friends and family near to say the last goodbyes and maybe create a fond memory for them to carry with them. A thoughtful poem, and a 10.
You dissected the poem perfectly exactly what I was meaning to say I've seen both sides of someone terminally ill 1 who isolated themselves from the rest of the world even the ones that wanted to love them the other surrounding themselves with family and love. I think I would like the ladder. Spend the last minutes of life with people loved ones. I don't think I would want to die alone. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for your comments.
Sometimes death is redeeming, after all the suffering and pain.10!
That is one way to look at it and probably very true for some suffering so much.
So many pluses! thank you. It was written for someone I know who has terminal cancer.
To live at the edge of life and wait for death is very tough..well penned
Not all face terminal illness the same. Thank you for commenting Rini!
