Watching Tv With The Sound Off Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Watching Tv With The Sound Off

Rating: 5.0

The Paper crumbles from an half eaten candy bar, now gone.
Thrown to the other side of the couch.
The channel changes with a press of the remote.
Summer blossoms as a flower unfolding from a bud.
A miraculous moment. As the volume is turned all the way down.
Conversation sparks. on the televison screen. Various movements come from their mouths.
Their hands follow the movements.
Embarrassed about how they ended up walking down the street together.
A fear of rejection turns into an awkward hello.
In turn, smiles appear across their cheeks. Him and her.
Walking down the street. steady pacing.
Hoping that they didn't run out of anything to say.
They didn't turn around, continuing to walk forward.
A bus or two passes. The cars continue their commute
Those whom encounter them walking, keep their heads forward.
Minding their footsteps.
they play and talk walking down the street.
They pause, him and her. A voice without sound.
He exclaims to her in silence. Not wanting to spoil the moment.
Her eyes brighten. The sun gleaming off of them.
Her hair hanging wild.
Displaced, all over her head.
She displays her personality in the clothes she wears.
Bronze skin. A dainty necklace that dangles at the center of her chest.
Her jeans reflects the time she spends in the gym.
The benefits of milk gone to the right places.
A comic relief told in a passionate story.
Taking brief glances he admires her beauty when he thinks she's not looking, but respects her mind more.
Taking the conversation further north rather south of ambition.
Sharing the like for the same books.
The current events of another's imagination.
He rocks a low hair cut.
With loose fitted jeans.
A buttoned up designer shirt.
Delighted he fought the fear, speaking to her upon first glance.
Refusing the urge to say something dumb only for her to say something as equally dumb.
Fate. As she hoped that he'd say anything to break the ice.
Lengthening the time shared on and off sitting at each other's desk.
Sharing the same career. In the same dull grey office.
The sun melts into sherbert.
Becoming sweeter each moment they walk toward his apartment.
One of those quirky P.G.-13 romantic comedies.
Suspended in a moment of silence shared between them both.
Everyone they encounter converses about irrelevant things as they are not the stars of the movie.
Sidekicks to ensure the script goes to plan.
Flashbacks of lovers pass, eroding in memory as the conversation proceeds forward.
Their cheek bones stretch to no end, no longer taking their sweet time walking.
Their there now. Walking up the steps to the door.
They share a beer watching a knock off of the movie I'm watching now.
Depicting true love at first sight.
A girl whom is funny, witty with a touch of spice.
A dramatic scene where they both find they need each other.
A one night stand that turns to something more.
Two weeks before her term paper was due.
The next morning she awakes in his arms finding where she wants to be.
At least until the sequel.
Where true love explodes into the arms of another.
Back in the real world,
Most movies end like this.
As faces pass with no expression.
A world where yes really means no.
And the starring role is always up for open casting
