When the sun shows off its yellow teeth
In my eyes full of sleep
I laugh
And tie up all my sufferings in a knot
To put them in my heart's almirah.
When darkness and silence together
Knock on my window
I laugh
And birds resting on my lips
Fly away.
When for the sake of a handful of water
Empty and hypocrite hands
Fill up with prayers
I laugh
And in the rain of my laughter
Dry lakes quench their thirst.
But when in my wisdom filled silence
She does not acknowledge my existence
I laugh
And laughing, I start crying......!

I read and reread, the mood, feelings and expression all grip with their intensity, created through imagery that touches and moves. last lines end on a note, wihich lifts the poem to great heights and makes me totally identify with it. in wisdomful silence only loneliness should cry... Mamta
Marvelous write! So poetic and full of beautiful expressions. In the silence of night many questions and longings arise. One is wondering about our connection to this objective world and its maker.
A very heartfelt write, and a lovely title, well written Naseer 10 Lynda xx
Laughter is not always for fun..soemtimes we mask our sorrows by having a laugh...I gues when you are alone thats when you tend to take this mask off...so floodgates open. 8/9/09
Why Does Loneliness Weep In Wisdomful Silence? After having wed twice, my first love lost by cancer, and; second divorced for the lack of communication. Baren after 45+ years of bed-warmth and restless companionship had led to ill tidal weaping lonliness, This may help many as it has myself become a mantra, Self revealing of a muse of my own 'Self' be friend. ALONE - - with myself if I do not see, another side, a side of me One of mind, of no other kind A friend I find, who's alone in my mind. He or She, speaks to me. 'If I a friend to be, then not alone your side will be, If only you will find the friend in me' Best friends we can be, 'Me and Me', Loneliness, is not finding 'Me' (Self revelation after marital desolving) 1989 Louie Levy

wow! ....how easily you have described what i so often feel...the despair the hopelessness when those whom you suffer silently for do nothing to repay you..not even whisper some random sweet nothing.
