Will I - Poem by Temple Jones

Will I lose my dignity for what I’ve done in life?
Will someone care if I live or die?
Will I wake up to see tomorrow?
From this nightmare I keep having every night

I have done wrong
I have mistreated people who was kind to me
I cursed them with my vicious tongue
I threaten them when I felt they didn’t understand me
I was quick temper
I became another person that wasn’t my normal self.

I am in prison
I am an outcast
I am unwanted
I am a failure
I am not perfect
I am leading towards death

Will I lose my dignity for what i’ve done in life?
Will someone care if I live or die?
Will I wake up to see tomorrow?
From this nightmare I keep having every night

People expect the best
Right now, I just want to rest
Either live life to the fullest
Or die with knowing that I caused so much hurt

Will I lose my dignity for what i’ve done in life?
Will someone care if I live or die?
Will I wake up to see tomorrow?
From this nightmare or will I sleep forever.
