Shalini stands with confidence like Delhi's Kutub Minar,
She walks firmly with heel power,
She talks passionately loud and clear,
She holds her head high with no veil or cover!
Shalini is an Indian city woman walking straight and tall,
She is determined to move forward without a fall,
She is ready to work hard and to take a call,
She has her will to dress and adorn like a doll!
Multi-tasking has become a way of her busy life,
Many errands, yet, a loving daughter and a plucky wife,
Managing her office and staff with an efficient drive,
Multi-personality, cleverly avoiding many a strife!
Never underestimate Shalini's might,
Never give her chance to hit back or strike,
Never enter into an argument or give her a mike,
For she would blast like a nuclear ‘Shakti' burning bright!
A very inspiring portrayal. We the woman have many sides. All are being explored wonderfully through your poetry.
The wonderful happy transformation of a woman then to now.....excellently lovely Geeta...this poem immensely thrills me and makes me happy....keep it going...stay blessed
An Inspiring write. Beautiful portrait of Shalini, a well determined woman to cross any path of life. Loved your presentation.
So good of you, Geetha, for an inspiring observation of Shalini. Feel proud that today's women are determined to cross any difficult path to emerge a winner. Thank you dear.
Dr.Geeta Radhakrishna Menon has started a series of poems on Indian women Here is another poem now on an urban woman. How women of the east are struggling in their society is being described very nicely.
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
