You Thought Of Me
You're on the road,
And far from here.
Gone again, it seems.
But distance
Cannot separate
Us two, for we're a team.
The phone just rang
And it was you
2,000 miles away.
You rang me just
To hear my voice
And that just made my day!
He's the subject of my poems, and my inspiration these days!
A poet needs a Muse or inspiration and that is clearly what you have found. With cellphones, huge distances do not matter-there is instant communication.
Can a Muse be male? I always thought that the Muses were the DAUGHTERS of Zeus! (LOL!) Anyway, I get what you mean. Puts me in mind of the Righteous Brothers' lovely old hit 'You're my soul and my inspiration'. Thank you, Michael.
