He has great appraisal for poets
Neruda, Pushkin, Eliots’
Kalidasa, Tagore, Keki…
List is on and on
Reads on and on
Keeps a heap at store
Displays and describes with silky talk
I wrote a few small poems
Gave him for a read
Reader read and silently left
I waited for days together
Then someone said –
‘Silence speaks louder than words, sometimes
But not everybody listens’
Lightning struck
I gave ear to that silence
Tagore has written –
‘Man has in him the silence of the sea’
Learnt to respect the silence
Today I am happy
Writing and reading my work.

Very careful words...I think this is common with every one else...especially women...happiness sometimes doesn't need to rise from anticipation or expectation...just write thine, read thine and for thine own heart...that is glory..excellent poem
Dear Vidi, From all our 09 comments, & with more to come, it is evident that the 'silence' mentioned by you is well appreciated! Your poem has been well crafted! 10+ -Raj Nandy But today I grieve the death of our famous rebel & innovative poet Ms KAMALA DAS! She has breathed her last at a Pune Hospital on Saturday, at the age of 75.Will you like to join me on page no.2 sl no.29; when you get the time? Thank you. -Raj Nandy
