17 Gashes To The Heart - Poem by Peter Manton

A blade upon the wrist evades in time,
A blade upon the heart scars for life.

Heed this advice and you’ll make it through,
Love brings happiness and much pain too.

Tears of joy and tears of pain,
Through heaven and hell, our love remain

Sometime we lose our grip,
Sometimes we fall and trip.
Love is the force that picks us up when we are down.

Pain comes before and after, and in the middle to,
Love is what makes it worthwhile,
The element that pulls us through.

Memories of joyous occasion,
Memories best to forget,
Memories that we may regret.
Love is the memories of the good and bad, the happy and sad.

Love is the shimmer in your eye,
Love is the pain that makes my cry,
Love are the words of heaven and hell,
Love is many things, Love is true,
Love is here, Cus’ I Love You.
