A Beautiful Heart - Poem by Hazel Durham

Sunshine is as precious as hope,
She washes her strong, voluptous body with plain soap,
Washing the many tears away,
Of wasting her love on that man every day,

He steals her heart and throws it into the jaws of the Atlantic ocean,
It washes up on Garryvoe beach,
Like a special treasure for someone with a heart to reach.
She is destroyed with the agony but stretches herself beyond boundaries,

Her wandering soul weeping for the sadness and regrets of the past,
Like a movie rolling in her mind so fast,
The sound of the ocean in all it's many moods,
Is her constant food,

For her weary heart,
He captured the truth that is at the core of her being,
Like the sun been blocked by a heavy cloud,
Draping over for eternity as blackness blossoms,

Into a sense of doom,
Her heart has no room,
Just a memory of feeling joy as she surrendered to the beauty of love,
Like flying through the skies of time,

To chase the future and face the truth of heaven above,
To believe in God is to weave a cloth of love,
She cherishes wide open spaces,
The ocean beckons her with it's many faces,

She blooms under the full moon and the ocean's lure,
As it reaches out it's hand to her beautiful heart so pure.

Beautiful tale of despair in the bliss of love that ends in hope of a voyage of pure bliss. A good end to an ugly story of love insightfully portrayed with conviction. (Report) Reply

Though has drunk the poisonous potion of life, she is still in love with life, ready to chase the future with hope and putting her trust in God, her beautiful heart longs to bloom! Great write that proves that one can see a silver lining in every dark cloud if one wills! (Report) Reply
