A Diary Seven (La Isla Bamba) Poem by Ahmad Shiddiqi

A Diary Seven (La Isla Bamba)

Rating: 2.7

(dedicated to Mr. Eddie Roa, a great poet at poemhunter)

come out of shadows of blackened dreams
my soul soars like a Spring valley's glow
for they are most wise in all centuries
in pride and pleasure of the youth

I thank to beloved God for giving us
our life shall be happy as full moon
only the perfume of the red orchids
surround us with new-strong hopes

on behalf of our friend's devotion
is lost in the light of their rays?
no, never surrender your love
we know how to survive

Dear friend Ahmad, I have mixed emotions for this. I do not deserve an adulation such as a poem dedicated to me. It is an embarassment for there are those in PoemHunter more deserving. Pardon my being a bit dense today but I'm still grappling with end part of the poem. Thanks and I will strive to be more worthy. Eddie
