A Time Travel Experiment Poem by Dave Alan Walker

A Time Travel Experiment

Rating: 3.7

Caught in a time between worlds
a time traveling experiment gone wrong
I'm fighting to get back to the year
I don't know when

Shards of light shooting like glass
millions of pieces arcing
like a kaleidoscope of colours
as the years roll back

Barking dogs
howling at the wolves

Howling wolves
barking at the dogs

Screaming voices
dying noises
trapped with no way back

A time travel experiment gone wrong

Time can push forward us in the future but it can't pull back in the past. Limitations are for time, too.

Ohhh, I like this, very much! Love the metaphor with the wolves, dogs... related, yet so different, wild-domestication, out of control... brilliant Dave, I love this poem! ! !

What a coincidence...only the other day I was watching, The Time Traveler's Wife (2009) film: your poem resonates perfectly with it!
