In the hullabaloo of international affairs
Nobody seems to be bothered about
The Amazon rain forest fires
Raging menacingly for over two weeks now
Can we afford to lose 20% supply of Oxygen
In the precarious conditions that we live in?
It seems that the world is interested
More in moons and exoplanets than this planet.
A great thought expressed with clarity. Thanks for creating awareness regarding a pressing issue.
Amazon rain forest! ! ! ! Fire! Burning up today. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
One tends to agree with the last line. And when the forests are raging, the country head is fighting with another of France instead of fighting with the fires. Incidentally, I too have penned one on this: Amazon: Lungs of Earth on fire
In this global village, we can't remain untouched by the heat of such topics. The world has offered to fight this fire or pledged funds for the re-forestation of fire infested land but the leaders of affected countries (Brazil etc) have shown no interest. Thanks, Aniruddha ji, for your feedback.
A moving composition on Amazon rain forest fires has been made by you which brings awareness among the people and government. Nice work.10
Thanks for your kind words, Dear Kumarmani ji, about the poem and its theme.
Yes, this is devastating. Timely warning. Thank u, dear poet. anjandev roy.
The worst part is that it will add to the already precarious levels of pollution and to depletion of natures own way of augmenting the supply of oxygen on our planet. Thanks, Mr Roy.

I would like to translate this poem
This is the first I knew of these fires going on, threatening and destroying precious trees.
This is happening so frequently these days and causing irreparable damage to the environment across the world. Thanks for your kind words, Michael.
