Angels' Query Poem by Jazlle D. H. **contentment is the key to happiness

Angels' Query

Rating: 4.6

I never thought it would happen
To be away from my little angels
On the day going to the airport
I was so anxious and trembling
The pain of leaving them
Filled me up with grief
As painful as the broken wings
Whenever they looked at me
I tried to smile and laugh
To hide the sadness I felt inside
Their tiny soft hands held my body tight
A sword stabbed my bleeding heart
When they uttered …
“Mama, can you put us in your luggage? ”
The tears streamed down my face
I hurriedly got out the car
And stopped myself from looking back
As I stepped forward
I closed my eyes and began to pray
God help me to bear the longing of their presence
I promise I’ll be back soon
To have their sweet kisses and warm hugs!

There is no love easy to leave standing in an airport, least of all a child's love.

Honestly written emotion of a mother's parting grief. It is always such a sad time and you brought out that poignancy very well Joan.

It is so hard to leave our children. I think you hit on one of the more painful time in motherhood and that is seperation. It is a very good read.

These heartfelt lines remind me of the day I left my firstborn at kindergarten for the first time. There is nothing quite so poignant as the pleading eyes of a child about to be parted from its mother. A very moving piece. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

“Mama, can you put us in your luggage? ”...reminds me of the child who thought that he could just ask Santa to bring his late sibling back. We do what we can, and that usually adds up to what is available. One day your precious offspring will thank you for what they are going thru now. In the meantime, the hurt does not diminish. neither for them nor for you. Nice write, but could offer more pain when you see fit to 'talk about it.'
