Chapter 6 *****

I don't know if Sheila felt my 'excitement'. I really didn't care.
I'd never felt the same with a woman before. Honestly, I swear!
It was getting late, near closing time. I had the waiter call a cab.
In the cab's backseat, using all my will, I did NOT, Sheila grab.

Back 'home', I held the door for her, as we stepped into the foyer.
Though in the same condo now with her, I felt not unlike a voyeur.
Sheila had a winning personality and she exuded sex appeal.
Could she possibly feel for me, what, for her, I now did feel?

'I gotta pee' she said to me, as she headed down the hall.
I retreated to my room, removing shoes and shedding jacket and tie.
Then I saw her in my open doorway, wearing her underwear; that's all!
She crossed the room, knelt in front of me, and slowwwwly unzipped my fly.

I thought I'd died and gone to Heaven. God, forgive me please.
I might have fled from other women, but Sheila put me …… at ease.
I stroked her hair as she pleasured me; I could not … see her smile,
but what she did for me that night, I'd been hoping for, for quite a while.

When she had finished, I raised her up and led her to my bed.
I returned her favor by pleasuring her, as I bobbed my ravenous head …..

which was buried between her perfumed thighs. 'Oh my God' she gasped.
I reached then up with my two hands, and her tender breasts
I grasped.
She came not once but several times, and I ….. kept up with
her,
but in a couple of hours we fell asleep, me to snore and her to
purr.

chapter 7

The next morning it was Sheila who woke up first. I smelled coffee, and,
before I got up, she showed up bedside with two cups, saying 'Do I look awfy? '
I said 'Hell NO! You never could. But now it's time for ME to pee.'
I quickly brushed my teeth and shaved, hoping, at bedside, she still would be.

She was not bedside, but sitting up in my bed; my coffee was cooled but tasty.
A sheet covered most of her, but I'd bet she was naked (not even one pasty) .
She'd also brought for her some yogurt, and held out to me a buttered muffin.
The air was quiet now, with none of last night's huffin' and puffin'.

I too, now just in my boxer shorts, slipped under the top sheet.
She ate yogurt while her left foot played with both my feet.
I sipped my coffee between muffin bites. At first we both were mum.
I had a hard time not thinking about how hard, last night, we both had come.

'Working on your book today? ' she finally asked, which took me by surprise.
'Well, I suppose, unless you've got a better idea' and I looked into her eyes.
I've got no better idea for this afternoon. I plan to bike and swim at the spa,
but if you're free tonight I'd like a second date. You've kept up with me so fa'.'

Now it was my turn to wink at her, something I'd never, ever done.
She flashed her smile and winked right back. I said 'last night was really fun.'
'So' she said 'now do you see why I prefer ‘two' ……. people in bed? '
I wasn't quite sure what to say; she was so blunt! So I just nodded my head.

As it turned out I was right; she was in her 'birthday suit', and.....
we made love twice more before she said abruptly 'I gotta scoot.'
So she hurried off to shower, but not before I patted her cute behind.
I thought 'Could this really be happening, Sheila and me, OR have I lost my mind? '

I showered too and changed the sheets. We'd have to order more.
I was in the kitchen getting more to eat when she called 'Bye',
and went out the door
To my amazement I DID work on my book, and progress I did make.
Unlike some days with writer's block, today writing for me was ‘a piece of cake'.

Chapter 8

And we went on like this the next few days. Wonders never cease!
She was a stimulating conversationalist, and, in bed, …. a luscious piece.
I'd never been in love before; could this be the one?
But I avoided saying the 'L' word. I'd not chance giving up ….. so much fun.

I assumed I was not the first man conquered by Sheila's charm ….. AND 'bod'.
And I'm not too religious, but that I'd be the 'last' (man) , I did pray to God.
Or would this be, for her, just a 'one night stand' that went on one week? ?
Though I often thought of the future, (of 'it', to Sheila) , I dared not to speak.

We did not have sex every night, …………….. but ALWAYS in the morning.
Yet it did annoy me a little bit when Sheila would excuse herself …. without warning;
I suppose that's what men are more known for. Turning the sex OFF.
But I guess compared to having pneumonia, it was like …. a minor cough.

We exchanged cell phone numbers, just in case we had the need.
And on the idea 'I'll use it AFTER my ‘vacation' ', my mind …… often did feed.
One night, for a change of pace, we went to downtown to see an old movie.
(No barhopping)
We shared a huge box of popcorn, to which Sheila said 'groovy'.

And when we got back to the condo, we discussed the movie, and we did kiss.
We stayed up till 1: 30 holding hands in bed; the sex I hardly did miss.
As usually happened, she got up before me ……. and made me coffee,
but unlike before, when she brought it in, she DIDN'T say 'I look awfy'.

I thought we might forego the morning sex. I did NOT bring it up.
But Sheila kissed me and was 'all over me', after I'd drained my cup.
She taught me some coital positions I ….. had never tried.
In fact, if I said I'd even HEARD of them, then ….. I would have lied.

Then it was off to the spa and some shopping, I guess, for her.
I fixed an omelet with bacon and peppers, and my coffee I did stir ….
as I pondered the past week-and-a-half, and what might still occur.
[One neighbor complained of the late night noise. 'It was not us' I did assure.]

On the ninth morning, before she left for the spa, as I grabbed for a plate,
Sheila smiled at me with 'that smile', and said 'How 'bout a double date? '
I looked up with a question on my face, and she said 'I met a couple you might like.
A couple who live in town. Their names are Violet and Ike.'

I said 'Sure, why not? How do you happen to know them, dear? '
And as soon as I said 'dear' I blushed. But it felt natural, not queer.
Sheila's smile got even sweeter, which I thought could not ever be.
She winked and said 'I'll tell you later. l like them; I think you will agree.'

Chapter 9

So at six that evening a cab picked us up. We were ….. headed to town.
I felt a little underdressed; Sheila had on ….. a rather lovely gown.
If 'gown' is a dress which almost touched the floor, but had bare shoulders,
and exposed quite a bit of her breasts (which were large … though NOT boulders) .

I was a little surprised to discover that her friends both had black skin.
[As a kid I'd beard of a white war general, 'Ike', who, the presidency, did win.
But I'd also heard of Ike and Tina Turner, a popular black singing pair.]
We met them at a rather posh restaurant near the town's central square.

They had already been seated at a courtyard-facing window table.
I'm a little nervous sometimes meeting strangers but I was as relaxed as, for me, was able.
Ike stood as we approached them and extended his outstretched hand.
It was a powerful yet not overpowering handshake; it was NOT limp and bland.

Violet, his wife (or so I surmised) offered her hand from where she sat.
It all seemed a little formal. If I'd had one, I may have doffed my hat.
But there were smiles all around and I sat after 'helping' Sheila with her chair.
I could not help, while doing so, glancing at and admiring her shoulders, bare.

I had on my sports jacket and another new tie; Ike had on a dark suit.
Violet had on a sequined, high-necked red dress. She was looking pretty cute!
I'd say Ike was pushing sixty, while she, I'd guess, was fortyish.
[I was in my mid-thirties, while Sheila was thirty and quite a dish.]

Once formally introduced and seated, a waiter brought us two bottles of wine.
I knew enough to know one was red and one was white; either one would suit me fine.
We started out with small talk. YOU know …… 'You like our weather here? ' All that.
They had also ordered a selection of appetizers. Munching
these, we continued to chat.

I felt a little more at ease when Ike said 'The wine and snacks
are on me, please? '
I hesitated; …. Sheila nudged my ankle with her right foot.
I said to Ike 'What, no cheese? '
We all had a good laugh out of that, a response I thought I'd
never have spoken.
Ike winked at me (was it infectious?) and from there, the ice
was broken.

Not that things weren't friendly enough …………. before my
wisecrack,
but we all seemed more relaxed. I remember it well when I look
back …..
at all that occurred during those two weeks, long ago, in the
Bahamas.
The morning coffee, my novel's progression, AND the nights
without pajamas.

Topic(s) of this poem: love educates
POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
'love educates'. do you believe PH had that as one 'Topic' selection? ? i put it in for fun when i noticed it as i was vacillating (another word i 'never' use) between the choices of 'love', 'sex', or 'sexuality'. i figured my poem might draw too much unwanted attention if i used sex or sexuality, though some chapters of this poem/story do deal with 'those two'.

***** some chapters leading up to '(Book # 2) ' also deal with love (i guess; at least Clifford thinks so) . the first 5 chapters of this story [to be found on PH with the title '(Book # 1) : Sheila And Clifford: 'HELLO! ' '] deals more with overall development of a relationship between an adult male and adult female who have recently met while sharing a 'vacation condo'.

if anyone has suggestions for what to include in this story, feel free to 'suggest away'!
