Readers,
Due to my frustration with the process I use (trying to) put together this showcase, combined with my time limitations, computer incompetence (mine) , and general ineptitude (mine) , this 2nd Nov.2021 showcase is SHORT. Ha! ! bri ;)
Introductory Poem:
I (figuratively) 'bend over backwards' to share PH poems with you.
They're NOT all mine, though sometimes, from mine, I use one or two.
If any of these poems bring you a bit of entertainment and/or knowledge,
perhaps I'll not have 'wasted' three years going off to Cornell 'college'.
That last line may not make any sense to any of you; it doesn't to me, Bri.
But sometimes to make a rhyme, a poet doesn't make sense, though I TRY.

A Good Marriage
Only for some
not for all
Two persons united as one
come what may
The good and the bad
The glad and the sad
Always remembering
two wrongs do not make a right
Always remembering
Children do not a marriage make
A pact between two
to always be true

Words Are Such Perfect Traitors
They rise in me
Like large waves
Overpowering me
I surrender to them
I feel so powerless
They are beautiful
Colorful
Dreams floating across sky
Like a milky way
I just want to hold them
In my hand
Oh my hand, so small to hold
They slip away
I love
To enclose them
In a bracket of words
But-
Words are such perfect traitors- - -

My Quandary
My neighbor wants to get me into bed.
I don't know why; I've never done a thing.
She must have thought some little word I said
would indicate I want to have a fling.
I never meant to lead her on like that;
this kind of thing could get quite out of hand.
Perhaps we'd better have a little chat
and I can try to make her understand.
It's hard to talk to her; I blush a lot;
my hands get clammy and my feet get cold;
my throat constricts so, and my face gets hot,
because I never have been very bold.
I can't just give her what her heart desires.
I've got to try to quench forbidden fires!

A Bust At The Senior Prom
What's a flat-chested girl supposed to do
when she wants to look good
for the senior prom?
My friend suggested that I buy an over-sized
bra and stick a couple of balloons
in it, but I thought:
They wouldn't look right:
they'd be way too light!
I had a very modest dress,
nothing strapless, as you might guess,
and then my mom thought of the ideal solution!
'I have it solved, my daughter!
Fill the balloons with water!
Then they will seem more real,
if someone should get a feel! '
'Nobody is going to get a feel, Mother! ' I said,
but still, I thought that her idea
had quite a bit of merit.
So to the senior prom I went, with new boobs
that seemed heaven-sent, more well-endowed
than I'd ever been before.
Things went quite well for a dance or two,
until one balloon started leaking through
the fabric of my prom dress.
My date was staring at my chest in horror
and he whispered, 'Sweetheart! Why didn't
you tell me you had a baby? '
'We need to get you home to feed it right
away! Come on, there's no time to delay!
Honey, you are lactating right through your dress! '

Bri's Note:
'Bust' can refer to (among other things) a female's breasts, a breaking apart, or a total failure. I think Linda uses it in all three ways! :)

Novel: 'About Adam'..…. [ A Short Review Of The Long Novel: About Adam; Author: Petru Popescu; Evolution; Human & Protohuman Relationships; Kenya; Greed; Emotions ]
In Kenya, two male scientists, one black, one white,
‘discover' precursors of 'Man' ….who walk upright.
Pliocene fossils ….AND ‘Living Fossils'...are found.
In this book, human & ‘protohuman' emotions abound.
Its five hundred pages kept me entertained throughout;
it even brought me a few laughs …..but I did NOT shout!
Suspense, sex, violence, friendship, love, and greed, AND …
...drives to survive & to reproduce should fulfill YOUR needs.
