Burden Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Burden

Rating: 4.8

Don't worry about me
I know I am a burden
And I am old enough to understand
That I am just that
I always felt like an extra wheel
So, don't worry about my welfare
I am fine
I don't know why you worry so much
It will be OK-- just me and my dog
Yes, I am a little lonely
But I'll get over it eventually
I'm adult now
I hate to be trouble

LeeAnn, your poem is indeed brilliant! You've managed to convey facetiousness and sarcasm in the same poem. THAT is a stroke of GENIUS! Love it, my friend!

Your poem is really heartbreaking, one should be a burden LeeAnn, whatever their age, but unfortunately in the 21st century, many are due to many other influences and situations. Stay +ive.

'I always felt like an extra wheel'. This is despair and self-loathing. You are more than what people make you believe. You are a champion and winner. Good poem though.

I too admire the excellent comment of Richard. Brilliantly presented.

To be a trouble less one is the real ascetic life which is godly, decent and manly

I join my hand to lend you my shoulder but chain your dog for me. Good poem. Just kidding for dogs.
