Festival fun
gleaming sun
smiling faces
all different races
a loud explosion
now not a sound
it's over

Time can alter the interpretation of a piece of writing, giving new life to the words. A good write on a hard subject; a 10!
You definitely hit the nail on the head time definitely can change interpretation of many things. I don't know what I was thinking back then but it definitely is a poem of our times.
Not surprising that at a young age you picked up on this, the youth see what hardened hearts ignor or accept in their older years, it is indeed a cruel world with wickedness walking the streets, a poem ahead of its time!
