Compelled Stupidity Poem by Indira Renganathan

Compelled Stupidity

Rating: 5.0

A rainbow day that was on a short break
Sitting on the bank of the lake
Son and father were watching
The rainbow in the water smiling

Son asked 'what if we stir the water
Will it change to mixed colours? '
'yes, but we can't do it. With a long stick
Only the rainbow can do its trick'

On that word sun swiftly set
'Where has it gone? ' son asked
'To recharge its full power'
Father replied

'Perhaps to get the stick
For the rainbow? ' son said in excited haste
'May be'.. saying so father got up in haste
To escape from the son so quick

We always think that child's brain is naïve and will take anything but is not, they are curious and ever questioning. A thoughtful poem. Nicely written Indiraji

It happens here too. I've sent engineering apprentices to go for left handed screwdrivers and shop staff looking for vegan eggs! !
