Corona Virus (Aka "19") : You S-Ck!….[ Some Have Doubts; Disease Control; Another World Stress These Days; Wearing Masks ]

Corona Virus, you really do s-u-c-k, you DO;
if I weren't SO darn polite I'd say: "F-ck U! "
Some say you are "Real", some say "Fake";
I know ONE who says YOU are fake, "for goodness' sake"!

Is "19" a ruse* to meet the "powers-that-be's" ends?
Either way, the nerves of some, ‘through the roof' **, it sends!

When I was a boy, masks were, by bank robbers, often worn,
by Halloween‘Trick-or-Treaters', seeking candy and more,
and by surgeons, as they worked through wet surgical gore,
AND ……by soldiers, in movies about the first "World War".

But NOW masks seem to be the latest fashion trend!

When, oh WHEN, will this latest fashion trend end?

* ruse:"an action intended to deceive someone; a trick."

** from: "go through to roof": "Lose one's temper, become very angry"

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Now, months after I wrote the poem, there is talk of a vaccine being developed against the virus.Can we believe all we hear about 'infections' and deaths?I have doubts about lots of things, but not about my sanity; of course I'm NOT sane!

Feel free to share your thoughts and experiences below.

Good health is my wish for you (or death, quickly and painlessly, when it is "your time".

The Corona Virus has taught the entire mankind a lesson. Not to take anything for granted. It has also proved that we are not powerful in any way. Everybody has to go through this tense and unpredictable period, even if you are the richest man on this earth. Masks have become a compulsory adornment. Let us pray for a better tomorrow, dear Poet Bri.

I like how this poem was crafted and presented. Well thought out. Covid 19 is a serious matter. Every write has been focused on the deadly effects and how to combat the same. Your poem has this effect too yet the tinge of humor embedded in this write is a welcome respite from all that have been said about this virus. Wonderful poem.

Covid -19 has changed life drastically. And I concur with your thoughts about this virus. I hope we have the vaccine the soonest. It has been nine months since Wuhan case and this virus is still on the rise. Wearing masks is indeed hard especially on those people who are dealing with some health issues. However, we have to sacrifice for our own protection and for others.

What you say is quite right! I had seen masks only on the face of doctors in operation theatres..... also on the face of people in some dramatic performance.... and in some of the folk art forms here in Kerala But NOW masks seem to be the latest fashion trend! When, oh WHEN, will this latest fashion trend end? ..... This is the question that lingers everywhere....and in everyone's mind! An interesting write in your usual style!

He he I enjoyed how the virus sucks rhymed with f***, this is jeering and mocking the virus in your fantastic ranting humour. More surgical and lab personnel wear masks than there are robbers. So masks are not bad, I prefer my ninja Niqab face veil though. Kudos.
