Dear Harper
Yr eyes brightly shine on my memory
When I start to weep
And yr blonde hair glows in the light
As the breeze goes through it
You are my hope
In the midst of the sadness
And as my world keeps crashing down
You are the phoenix
Rising from the ashes of my soul
And you will fly on the horizon with a smile
As I grow old and feeble
You are my future
That's why I keep holding on

Wow, I had a completely different interpretation of this poem till I read your note. It took me from sadness to joy. Great poem (and H.B. Harper)
I am bit confused now, just going to be 2 years tomm. and sorry for the mess about 'HE'.
Now it is even more confusing... Pup, Dog, grandchild....I would interpret it as human...only poet can throw some light on it.
Love for grandchildren is but natural, it is the time when you need to shower all your love on someone and they are the one at receiving end.
It's your second birthday, Harper. What's up? That means that you're no longer a pup! Well done, LeeAnn!
After reading your poem, notes and comments I am bit confused how do I interpret this poem, are you talking about a pet / caged pet or pet animal or what. In less than two year's time what memories you made with Harper? ? Waiting for your response to leave appropriate comments.
