Devi Lakshmi - Goddess Of Prosperity
Devi Lakshmi - The Goddess of wealth,
Is selective and choosy.
When she gives, she gives in abundance,
Filling you with plentitude and prosperity.
She shuns the lazy man, full of inertia,
She refrains from helping the lethargic people.
A wealthy man has to keep a strict awareness
On himself or how it affects him.
If he becomes proud and conceited,
Then, Goddess Lakshmi knows to turn the table,
She becomes ‘Alakshmi'-
She pushes the rich man into a dark abyss!
She reserves her affection
For those who earn their wealth
In an honest and sincere way!
Goddess Lakshmi blesses only
Those who toil hard and share
Their wealth to reach their goal in life!
Goddess Lakshmi visits places
That are spotlessly clean and bright.
She abhors dirty and filthy places!
To remain the favourite of Lakshmi,
One has to cultivate cleanliness, clarity
Of body, mind, speech and the surroundings.
The white owl who keeps vigil and alert,
Like a night watchman
Is the vehicle of Goddess Lakshmi!
A strict awareness of every action in life,
A constant check on falling a prey to arrogance
Is a compulsion, to remain healthy, wealthy and happy!
