When Jack said that he hated the world
But its essence, I felt his pain
Even more so, now
I felt when I am inside too
Watching the news, over and over
I get drilled just wanting to know the weather
When will we understand?
We are killing human kindness as well the earth
When did progress took over
We poisoned the lakes
And we farmed to extiction
As we all took away the land without permission
We fed the indigenous Christianity and firewater
Until they became sick and weak
And now, I cry with guilt as I curl into my bed
With my old dog,
Hoping we realise our mistakes
Before the essence is gone
Human beings are part of the societal problems by our activities. Well captured
Yes, we did all this. A tragedy, so well summarized, But is it too late now to correct it or stop it? A poem with great, good intentions.
Indeed to be good for a good social cause is our duty...well crafted...liked
With conflicts man destroys both nature and what he built. Nicely scripted
Hoping we realize-------essence is gone. A great warning in very excellent words to the humanity.Alas we never realize.
A very heartfelt write that many of us can relate thereto. Very touching.
A painfully GOOD poem, LeeAnn! Nice nod to Kerouac! We can only pray to God that we never lose sight of the essence.
