Flush Them All Away - Poem by Obed dela Cruz

(I went to the comfort room and then thought of something after some hours. You may laugh if you want as you read this poem but of course, please see and understand its message. Thanks!)

Sometimes, I feel there’s something wrong in me.
In these times, I relax myself and sit.
Then I think on how to put them off.
I don’t need them because they are just toils.
That’s why today, I’ve flushed them all away.

In some times, bad thoughts knock at my mind’s door.
But now, they will stop knocking anymore.
All those hurt… all those nightmares… all those fears…
I hate them and they’re not welcome in me.
That’s why today, I’ve flushed them all away.

I will never be left alone with pain.
I will never be alone in this place.
In the times I feel that there’s something wrong
I’ll go to be stronger and to stay strong.
All those bad things, I’ve flushed them all away.

I’ll let out things that make my life smelly
I do not wish for them to burden me.
I’m a free man… I don’t have heavy loads.
I choose to be strong and not just to sob.
Those heavy loads, I’ve flushed them all away.

This time my friend, I think it is your turn
Flush them all away, be a free person.

I agree with Ronald, You have certainly improved in the area of language and I feel that as you continue to write you will master what you want to say. This is a very well structured poem and I hope to see many more come from your pen. Good write. Your Friend Lynn (Report) Reply
