Fruit-Spread ….. [when Having One Is Nice; Short; Response To Kelly Kurt’s “just One”] Poem by Bri Edwards

Fruit-Spread ….. [when Having One Is Nice; Short; Response To Kelly Kurt’s “just One”]

Rating: 4.5

Variety is sometimes life’s “spice”,
but sometimes JUST one is so nice!
One person with whom to share a bed;
One nose at the front of my head;
One kid (only) to steer the snow sled;
One fruit-spread ON … my slice of bread.

Two noses would be better? Good job, except you have August 2,2015 at the bottom, and I think you meant August 24.

A very cute write..... loved the simple elegance and artless directness of the poem! Often just one is nice so that we can avoid the hassles of comparison! But when Bri talks of one and one only...... is he true to himself? Will he be ever satisfied with just one ice cream, I wonder! !

Life's spice enables anything to happen. Hey you have to give Vegemite a go. Add butter first.

Yes, two will sometimes quite nicely do But what happens when you're through A longing for more comes to be and suddenly you want three The third leads to desire for more before you know it, you have four But four will not keep you alive so now you itch for number five It snowballs quickly and then doubles, leaving you with ten At this rate, you must admit Soon your needs are infinite So when all is said and done I'll be satisfied with one : -)

Have you posted this as a separate piece yet Kelly? You've told me you try to encourage people to post their comments as poems when it is appropriate. I think it applies here
