I could marry her,
for what it's worth,
but she would be like Pear Blossom
in The Good Earth.
Pear Blossom, Lotus' Slave. Would THAT be so bad? I don't know, not recalling the story, IF i ever knew it, though title and author ring a bell. bri ;)
BUT I know what you meant in your poem, dear Ron. Sure!
Sylvia, how can you possibly know what he meant if you don't know the story?
Dear Ron, I knew the TITLE and THE AUTHOR, world famous, English, lived in Old China, but I do not know the STORY you mentioned, so odd I knew all things about PEARL S. BUCK but none of her stories. Sorry
A wonderful thought provoking poem succinctly and cleverly crafted.
The sanctity of marriage must always be uphold. Yet, it is sometimes traded with customs, traditions and financial considerations.
