I'm a lucky duck
Because I have you
To indulge me in my whims
Like buying me dark chocolate M&M's
I'm a lucky duck
Because I don't have
A silent, lonely walk
You walk with me, and we talk
I'm a lucky duck
Because I'm not left
Alone to face my pain
You listen, and hug me again
I'm a lucky duck
Because you understand
No matter what I say
I can't drive you away
I'm a lucky duck
Because you say
My enthusiasm is contagious
And you really enjoy being us
I'm a lucky duck
Because you choose
To spend your time with me
I'm as happy as can be!
I'm a lucky duck
Because I have
A man as good as you
You've made my dreams come true.
A Very Beautiful Poem! ! ! ! ! Such Love And Joy Felt And Shown! ! ! ! ! You Are Very Lucky To Have Such Wonderful Memories! ! ! ! ! Thank You So Very Much For Sharing This! ! ! ! ! So Very Many 10S! ! ! ! ! +++++
Thanks, Becca, for reading and rating! Poetry is written to be a blessing and bring joy to others!
Very nice poem. Sounds like it was a very fulfilling and loving relationship.
It truly was, Lamar- - he was one in a million! Thank you for reading and commenting. Your name sounds so familiar- - I know I've read your poems before. Please forgive me if I've never commented on one (I'll have to go and check on that!)
I bet he felt the same way. Losing someone you love to death is the hardest thing most humans ever have to deal with. Here, you deal with that loss in a very positive way.
Barry, you have a knack for saying all the right things! I'm on a roll today- - just wrote 3 poems so far, in one day! This one is the happy one about remembering Ed. The following one, Raw Grief, is the dark one- - that's how I felt right after he died. I prefer the happier memory! Although some might think the dark one is actually better poetry. I'll let you decide.
