I tried to touch the morning mist
To hold it in my hand
But through my fingers then it slipped
Like grains of golden sand.
I tried to reach the rainbow curved
Across the azure sky
Too far, too far beyond my grasp
Too high, too high, too high.
And then to see the smallest star
Full hidden in the night
My eyes could not yet capture this
So clouded was my sight.
I tried to hear the voice of God
To hear it in my mind
Then feel His love envelop me
But He I could not find.
I tried to touch, to reach, to see
To hear all that I sought
But nothing was there manifest
As all I found was naught.
A poem as beautiful as morning mist Sparkles as a diamond ring.
Beautiful words. We try and sometimes fail yet we must always remember to never give up. Thank you
There are many things that we cannot feel with all our senses of see, hear, taste, smell, and touch. Yet they may exist. Our conclusion may be different sometimes. Beautiful poem. Thank you.
So what if I read it before a-it so good that I came back for more!
It feels good to know that you are trying to toch the morning mist or to go to rainbow or else trying to listen the voice of God. Valerie, even if you can not achieve these noble efforts will pull you to a much better place.
The soul of a true poetess is wrting here. Trying to reach for the light, for the dew, but feeling it is slipping out of our sight and hands, very nicely written. Sometimes we wonder why but there is no ready answer. Writing this wonderful poem is huge success by itself. Sometimes we try to many things, but when Val reaches for the pen, (or the keyboard) suddenly a bright light is shining on all her readers.
You reached for the Heavens and found it bare. You are not alone. A searching, seeking look into the unknown. You touched me.Profoundly brilliant
You have tried and succeeded in writing another beautiful poem.
