If You Go Away Poem by Practicing Poetess

If You Go Away

Rating: 5.0

If you go away one day
And don't return,
You are going to miss my love
Your heart will burn.

There will be unending ache
You can't allay
And the hole that's in your heart
Won't go away

Only then, you'll realise
How much you cared
And you'll be left longing
For what we once shared

And the loneliness will eat
Away your soul
You'll become an empty shell
Who waxes cold.

Going so far and not returning back is so sad. Lowliness eats up mind entirely. Anxiety and sorrows remain in life. Missing love is so sad really. This poem is really very brilliantly penned. An amazing sharing is done here...10

Thank you, Kumarmani. Sometimes life circumstances beyond our control can part lovers. And sometimes one doesn't truly miss or appreciate what they have, until it's gone.

Thanks, Bec, for your generous and enthusiastic comment! It's interesting that you said 'song' instead of poem- - - Does it read like song lyrics to you?
