In Deep Peril Poem by Valsa George

In Deep Peril

Rating: 5.0

Sailing unimpeded in the sea of joy
Sloshing over its expanding silver
Like a sailor addicted to the sea
Feeling the electric power of waves
Unwilling to be restrained
An avalanche of pain hit from behind
Shattering my Titanic like egg shells
I am now brutally ripped apart,
Desperately clutching at the shattered pieces
How a smiling visage turned sinister
In no time before any hint could be got

Here I am on a perilous voyage
Swimming against the stab of pain
With no light house in view
A float tossed about by an uncanny fate!
Is my escape an armistice with life?
I see someone swimming by my side
A hooded assassin
Or a saviour to take me to safer shores!

What a profound read. Exceptional work. Imagery that pulls the heart's strings. This sea voyage can well be a metaphor for life...full of hidden dangers.10 absolutely.

Our life is so much like that - the 'unsinkable' Titanic! ! One moment we are sailing safely, the other we are amidst a storm.. No one knows what will take us out.. And when we find a way - there is no way to be certain if it is friend or a foe's hand that we are looking to hold.. A profound write Valsa ma'am.. Thanks for sharing.

You have touched the cords of pain and sorrow like only a poet like you can do. I wish and pray the one swimming with you turns out the savior and not the assassin. Wish you all the best dear Valsa.

Is my escape an armistice with life? I see someone swimming by my side A hooded assassin Or a saviour to take me to safer shores! Let us hope the best, and go on believing in a savior, at least we shall die hopefully and pains of death will be minimized. Why to increase the pains by believing there is no savior and once we die we die for ever.

I can't add anything extra to the excellent comment of poetess Nosheen. Top score and to my favourite! !

When we meet with unforeseen disasters, like a stab from behind, we without losing our morale have to proceed the voyayage of life taking refuge in the shatters. When we are doubtful of the purposes of those swimming by our side it is natural to think that the escape is only an armistice and not a final escape. Hope you have surpassed all such dangers.

Savior to take one to the shore, I am sure. The poem brings out the possibility of something unexpected happening in an instant. There is always hope and one must gather all courage.
