Indian Parent
(Rema Prasanna)
From a distance
we feel you grow
not so near not so far
isolating world in one orbit
in a strange modulation
a sense of difference arise
From a distance
we watch you grow
on our over-shielded love
we know for certain
on one definite path
you leave us and go
to rekindle your life
Age a facet
move in wind speed
one forward fusion
without reverse gear
hidden curves, aches and
endless deals to assort
From a distance
we experience you grow
on our reserves
on our dreams
on our aspirations
When you grow farther
escalating your chances
remember to
leave a dab of shine
to repaint our life
a real poetic picture, rema...this the the plight of most of the modern educated parents and their young teens in this part of the world
very realistic... the deluge is in one way, parents and children both facing the difference..... Remember to Leave a dab of shine To repaint our life..................very impressive and well written
yes paying back is dwindling...lets hope the new generation parents atleast aer allowed to die peacefully....good one
you select very nice and touchy topics to write about. this is also very nicely composed and filled with truth and the realities of life. well done. keep writing, you write well.. take care seema
thank you so much you make me to remember my you are really wonderful thanks again
touching composition, on a very relevant theme in present times. do you think Indian parents to some extent cripple their children by giving them everything on a platter. yes, ageing parents wistfully hope...10
A touching write... A typical Indian parent is all of these, and more :) All from a distance, these days, when the fledgling has flown the nest, unwilling to let go, and having drained oneself of all within oneself and without, the plea at the end was indeed a painful one. Really good read, this one!
