Leaf 1 - The Holy Basil
Basil leaf!
Benign,
Benevolent,
Bestowing peace,
Bereft of any gaudy hues,
Balmy yet unassuming,
Bidding an egoless soul
Beckoning union with the divine spirit!
The holy Basil!
The plant that grows in abundance,
Tiny bell shaped flowers,
The stalk holding a profusion of six bells
Twelve clusters lining up like a plume,
To marvel there are no hues,
The humble nature makes its presence
Through its simple elegance!
The green leaf
That spreads its fragrance;
The black purple basil -‘ocymum sanctum'
The white basil -‘ocymum album',
The aroma of a loving heart,
The aroma of a tranquil mind,
The fragrance of friendship,
The fragrance of oneness!
A matchless leafy essence
An effective juice for maladies,
A wonder drug that can cure
Ailments of varied kind
A wellness plant!
A basil leaf can win a heart,
Aid in the prayers of saintly men,
An attraction for God and His messengers!
Hark! She cares, nourishes and rejuvenates
Holy basil - a friendly plant
Holding on in abundance,
Helping to mingle and merge gleefully,
Hearty in nature with a generous heart
Hailing her soothing fragrance;
Hovering around in radiant joy,
Happy plant that delights every humble abode!

A plant never looks whether a human is a hindu, muslim or christian. It radiates its beauty all around and bestows its fragrance alike for all. Yes, any person who reduces pain is holy. Thank you, Sir, for your wonderful comment. I feel blessed.
