Let Me Be Your Friend Poem by Nosheen Irfan

Let Me Be Your Friend

Rating: 4.8

If you lose
your color
your spark
your magic
your charm
come to me
with all your thorns
I'll hear your silent tears
I'll heal your invisible scars
If suddenly your world contracts
And you don't know where you stand
Let me be your friend

A wonderful ode to friendship! Two sturdy oaks I mean, which side by side, Withstand the winter's storm, And spite of wind and tide, Grow up the meadow's pride, For both are strong. Above they barely touch, but undermined Down to their deepest source, Admiring you shall find Their roots are intertwined Insep'rably. - Thoreau

Such a lovely poem, so tender and sweet! This, indeed, is true friendship. To be there for your friend when the whole world rejects. Classic poem, Nosheen that deserves full marks.

It is when... “...you lose Your colour Your spark Your magic Your charm”..... that you need a friend, if not for anything else, just to lean on his/her shoulders and weep... Every friendship is worth the name, only if we imbibe this quality....

Sorry, the last line is: Mera dar khula hain, khula hi rahega tumhare liye....

Hi Nosheen, Wonderful poem, A tribute, ode to friendship, camaraderie... Just reminded me of the evergreen song rendered in the immortal voice of Great Mukesh, in Purab Aur Paschim.... Koyee jab tumhara hruday thod de Tadapta hua jab koyee jhod de Tab tum mere paaz aanaa priye Mera dil khula hain, khula hi rahega Tumhare liye...... A billion tens for this lovely poem....
