.
I think I shall bundle up
and take a walk on this winter night
and escape the news anchors delivering the news
on the Local Action News on television tonight
.
I prefer this snow-quiet street
raining twinkling Christmas colors from trees
bushes, fences, roof lines, and windows
painting God's News into my heart
.
Leave the news full of stupidity, cupidity and unkindness
unwatched on the television- it will still be there tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow- same sins, different names,
painting ugliness and despair into our hearts
.
Join me instead, won't you, dear neighbor,
on a walk with God and angels and shepherds and
wise men and a new born babe in a manger
and a star raining holy light into our dark nights?

You know what, Mr. Quoth Theraven? ? ? - -if there is any tradition as wonderful, I think it would blow out the fuses of humankind! ! !

My dear Geeta, I reread this poem and thought what it would be like if my PH friends and I could take a walk together in that winter Eve with God to visit His Son. What joy that would be! Thank you Geeta for reminding me what a lovely walk that would be.
