But her past would torment her and she didn't want to live

Touching expressions in an insightful verse with rhythmic splendour. A sad but motivational piece of poetry. Thanks for sharing, Donna.

A strong poem of good advice. Regret is a difficult thing to come to terms with.

To rise above our disgrace and then to look down upon it, we see scars, but still pain, and how can this be? Because a good person truly regrets things and would change the past if he or she could......I see a good person in this poem of yours...and as regards the past my friend.....most of us feel the same way you do. A great poem and congratulations for poem of the day! 10+

It's time to let go your past, and move on. Even when though your past will want to pull you back, you have try and resist it.

Donna, this heart-felt poem almost brought tears to my eyes. It reminded me of a friend that I had recently lost to cancer. She was very much like the heroine in your poem. She had lived a very tragic life, but was an optimist. And she brought a lot of joy and fun to her friends. She, like you, are heroines because you meet adversity head on and move on with your lives. That takes strength. And it takes courage to be able to share. I commend you. Congratulations on Poem Of The Day. Very well deserved.

To open up your emotions and write such a cathartic poem is great. It is a dilemma for all of us. We need to treasure the past but not to linger in it. Today is for living! Congratulations Donna.

That is what it is, the past. The worrying and the why we put ourselves through is heartache and wasted time. We realise this, sometimes, when it is too late. Thank You
