The moments of joy
Are becoming rare
As the years, inevitably
Pass by
No rain washes clean
The scars of yesterday
Carved indelibly
On every wayside stone
Mist enters the heart
Weaving a web of gloom
Meaning of joy, dimming
By the day
Moments slip by
Huge mountains arise
Between wanting
And finding
Life has its ways
Ships sail or sink
Reaching for the harbor
Of dreams.

The journey goes as it wants to...but the dream of goal is steady...we are caught between fate and desires....well done work- 10
Yes, the huge gap between desire and fulfillment grows wider with age.
This poem is beautifully written, a bit sad and wistful, but still provides hope. Yes, as we age, we develop more scars, more mountains arise between wanting and finding...but at the same time, we do find our ways to make it through our dreams...unrealized or not. Thanks for sharing Nosheen. As an aside, I also liked the phrase about mists in the heart. Well done.
I really like this poem. It is well written and flows smoothly. My life, however, seems to just get better and better. instead of The moments of joy Are becoming rare As the years, inevitably Pass by I could write: My moments of joy Are becoming more As the years, inevitably Pass by. Anyway, great work! I really enjoyed reading it. Thanks for sharing it here.
Life has its ways Ships sail or sink Reaching for the harbor Of dreams................Amazing lines of a beautiful and touching poem.
BETWEEN WANTING AND FINDING - That is the core line I believe. That mental condition is where are most of the time, that is, we have conceived what we want but have not yet obtained it. So much depends on how we live our lives during that period of time between wanting and finding. So we wait only, inactive, anxious, solitary? Do we go out into the world, contacting friends, helping others, trying to make the best of our lives? It's the difference between paralysis and activity. I sense you are active rather than passive, Nosheen, and one activity you so is to write this poem to help us to understand and seal with life's ways. There's no anger or panic in your verse, there's a quiet acceptance of life's realities but not a surrender to disappointment. This poem encourages me to match my ways to life's ways, to find a common rhythm with life, and not adopt an extreme position. Your imagery is pitched at a human scale that makes such an accomodation seem reasonable and doable. It's a wise poem!
'Huge mountains arise Between wanting And finding'......................................... Often this is true! There is a wide chasm between our aspirations and achievements! Before the stark realities of life, one can only stay dumb and bewildered.... The salient truths of life are put poignantly! Top marks!
Life has its own ways than we wish.A very beautiful poem about the journey of life.

In this changing world where moments are slipping by becoming the dust of the past there is hope in the end that the dust will get settled and we will reach to our destination. We are living between wanting and finding.......Moments slip by Huge mountains arise Between wanting And finding AMUSING..........100++++++
