Valsa George

Limerick- Fear - Poem by Valsa George

Scared by his own shadow, in the dark
He sat, with his face turned back.
Behind him he heard a hiss
That made him to piss
Alas! Nothing but a mouse he could mark!

if i didn't know that scared by his own shadow*** was an idiom, i would surely have said: how can there be a shadow if one is in darkness?

*** afraid/scared of your own shadow - definition and synonyms

    phrase

    very easily frightened
    Synonyms and related words
Not brave or willing to take risks: cowardly, spineless, feeble...

    ===============================
ok! don't call it an idiom! phrase, if you wish! !

    i'm glad he didn't hear a spit! ! !

thanks for the punctuation! especially in these lines:

Scared by his own shadow, in the dark
He sat, with his face turned back. ........without the punctuation, it could be read very differently. well, NOT 'very' differently.

what have i unleashed by teaching Valsa how to use comedy! ?

It's funny how when alone in the dark every sound is very audible and it does make one alert. I would be jumping at every sound especially after watching a horror movie alone late at night. (Report)Reply

Both the limerick and the graphic are hilarious. I'll be laughing throughout the Canada Day 150 celebrations. I'll need some levity after public presentations of my poem Cheers Canada 150 +. Thank you, Valsa. (Report)Reply
