In the Kingdom of Fools, there was a poet
Who thought his poems were really great
Was a man of high pretence
But what he wrote made no sense.
You or I could be that poor idiot!
In the kingdom of fools, there was a poet... There must be many I think, And you have indicated that in the last line and put it so well that no one will feel bad about it.
Thank you Aniruddha sir! Glad you could find truth and fun in it!
I agree with you that this Limerick is written for fun and not pointed towards anyone. This has automatically come out of your mind and if it matches to anyone by chance is definitely accidental. I have reviewed this lovely poem very deeply and I have read it several times and got unlimited fun. This is your greatness that you have deep perception and expressed great humor. I hope this poem will be loved and read by many for many, many times.
I guess I would fit well into what you have said in the last line, because I think myself as one akin to 'Who thought his poems were really great'! :) Enjoyed the humor, you are so good at it!
A wonderful Limerick dear madam! I always appreciate your innovative ideas to explore humorous things.....10
Wow! Wow! i cannot stop laughing more. Who was he who ruled the fools? I think this is a great humor!

I would like to translate this poem
hey, valsa! this made me smile. no doubt that at least sometimes we think we are making perfect sense which only makes sense to us, or perhaps to a few. of course, however, does any poem speak to all? we hope that somewhere there will be a person or people who resonate with us and appreciate what we've written—as i do what you've written here. hoping you're well in all ways, glen
You are absolutely right, Glen! We cannot make sense to all...! We post poems thinking that they make sense at least to a few. But when we believe that our poems are appreciated by all, we land in a fool's paradise. Glad it brought a smile to you....!
