Limerick- Last Ride Together Poem by Valsa George

Limerick- Last Ride Together

Rating: 5.0

He owned a costly bike with pride
Took his girl friend for a merry ride
He was in top speed
Rode as on a race steed
Hit on a wall and on the spot died

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is not meant to put a smile on your face, but to make you heave a sigh from your sensitive hearts! On a daily basis we hear of such disasters. Often speed is the villain...! The lesson to be learn't is
....Hurry causes worry! !

The format of limerick is a cute and lovable one...it's quite nice that you've chosen to write unhappy subject too in this format....of course this limerick is touching

How sad to see him end this way A mistake made; a life to pay Too late now for him to learn But for others; a lesson stern Big bikes and pride will bring dismay Thanks Valsa

Youngsters are branded as reckless It’s true, by and large, they are careless This lands them in trouble Sometimes they burst like bubble We can only watch their road rage helpless Thank you so much Loke, for your beautiful comment......!

The last line delivers a massive jolt. I remember an old campaign from years ago. It served an entirely different purpose....Speed Kills. The words apply here. A touching work, Valsa.

Limericks are not necessarily funny poems, it's sad and touching.

Beautiful Limerick with tragic end. Very true said over-speeding thrills but it kills.

whoa! valsa. before i read your note i thought, that ended with a thunk. i myself know of a death and people who have sustained serious injuries in motorcycle accidents. i've never wanted one and would have done all i could to prevent my sons riding them. imagine how vulnerable you are going at high speed and having a collision! -glen
