I am a mighty polar bear
Who never did do wrong,
I raised a family of my own
And once my will was strong,
I liked to wander far and wide
Across the caps I'd roam,
But every year things seemed to change
It feels no longer home.
My world is falling to the sea
I've had to pay the price,
I have nowhere that I can live
My land is melting ice.
I am an Emperor penguin
And I have a tale to tell,
I raised a family of my own
Together we did dwell,
Each egg I cradled carefully
While bitter winds did blow,
But every year things seemed to change
I watched it slowly go.
My world is falling to the sea
I've had to pay the price,
I have nowhere that I can live
My land is melting ice.
I am a lonely Arctic seal
Who's resting on the shore,
So many of us used to come
In years that passed before,
But sadly now I'm all-alone
My friends no longer here,
Yet still I wait in yearning
That one day they shall appear.
My world is falling to the sea
I've had to pay the price,
I have nowhere that I can live
My land is melting ice.
Whatever is going on affects us all, is this all part of the laws of nature The balance of things Or have we, man, made contribution to the worlds pains and sufferings, by our own actions Whatever happens I hope I pray We can also act as the new shoots, change our ways of living Love duncan X

I love how you can place yourself as them, and speak for them. Not only is that good writing, it is a creative mind. You do a good job. Your writing shows off an amazing talent. DC

My world is falling to the sea. ...................................... It is very beautiful both original poems... And the Arctic frost 'caresses' a lonely soul white thoughts...10...... Andrew, Thanks for your kind the comment.. Best wishes, Tsira
Environmental degradation leading to melting of ice bringing about the extinction of bears, penguins and seals are a great concern for all because after their extinction the levels of seas all over the world will go up leading to the submersion of islands everywhere and land erosion too and then the whole world making men look for some other planet for migration and settlement. Where can we go and llive when our world become Water World? These things are coming to my mind when I read your poem Melting Ice! Wonderful warning poem for mankind!
Andrew this is terrific. Loved it. What a wonderful way of putting forward the 'greenhouse effect'. Really brilliant, it is going to my favourites list right now. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
