Not Too Long At A Fork Poem by Savita Tyagi

Not Too Long At A Fork

Rating: 4.0

If indecisive when roads cross on
Follow the path that you are on.

It may not hold the charm of newness
To tickle your adventurous senses,

May but holds the comfort of familiarity
To save you from unknown hostility.

Once decision made to your heart's delight
Follow the path aimed with all your might.

Detrimental is not the fork but standing
Confused and still too long at a fork.

A road carries many secrets to explore
Infinite resides in its bosom to adore.

Swaggering the road sans hesitation
Leads you slowly into desired perfection..

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was inspired to write this poem after reading Robert Frost's poem Road Not Taken but with a different outlook.

Initiative and a quick one is some times the need of time. This is one of the qualities that is needed not only in the actual battle fields but in the battle of life as well. If one remains confused at a fork, the time for doing some thing right at the right time is passed. Both Narendra Modi and Nawaz Sharif are standing at the moment at a fork. The two Ns, Narendra may bring showers of love and Nawaz in return may seed the plant of friendship and peace.Otherwise, be it not so, the war of water, may bring miseries for 1,500 million people of the sub-continent.

That was beautifully written! Tis more my style to close my eyes spin two circles and go where it's not wise! ! !

On forking paths, we may pause undecided....! If not very adventurous, follow the familiar path you are on.... there may not be either thrill or danger... If courageous enough, take the untrodden path... there can be unanticipated challenges, thrill and even risk....! Taking a decision is important....but once the decision is taken, no looking back... A very solid pointer to life! !

Forks on my journey I've certainly have. Usually I've dismissed the 'forks', instead opting for a large spoon and a very large bowl of ice cream. : ) bri

Savita, I've yet to reach/achieve 'perfection'. Rats! Not that I would ever strive for such, well knowing what disappointment would surely follow! ! ! : )

i usually choose the road with the highest speed limit and the most McDonalds, for bathroom and ice cream breaks! but if i can't have both, i'll take McDonalds. bri :) p.s. McDonalds did NOT pay me to say that, but........................they did give me ten coupons for free ice cream!

Once you have confirmed your goal you have to follow the same no other way to it. Very nice.
