CAPTAIN
To steer a ship through rugged seas
And divert it from shoals and rocks
There need to be a captain at the deck
Or else the vessel is sure to wreck
Has any paper boat from its source
Charted its own safe course
Or ever reached the port
Without any malign force to contort?
With no one to steer the course
The ship is like an unbridled horse
Any system will rot to naught
Without a leader at the helm to direct!
Beautiful nugget....A ship without a Captain is like the uncontrolled horse. Dont know which direction its running. Loved reading it.
This piece is so studded with imagery made of rich centralized metaphors which click the affected ones at once... I am honored Ms. Valsa George & Dinesh ji...who can measure the elation of a school kid on whose work his able teachers write VERY GOOD...i am feeling so original like that...i am encouraged! thank you so much...regards, shahzia...
Hats off to Miss Shahzia for reading the illegible and all other comments posted earlier have been nullified.
I quote, 'With no one to steer the course The ship is like an unbridled horse' and unquote!
Each and every stanza stands out that emphasizes the need to have a leader....a leader with great qualities to direct us towards success in our endeavors. A great poem well executed. To my Poem List.
A wonderful and powerful poem beautifully crafted and conveyed with great imagery and metaphor. In life we truly need a leader that help us to identify, understand and define our purpose.
Lovely lessons of leadership or the need there of!

Quite true, Valsa. Shazia's comments and your response are so very appropriate, but the problem with our nations is of finding an honest 'captain' in the current highly vitiated and corrupted environ.
