Ah! It's February
And I have two birthdays to content with
One after another in the beginning
Then, during the coldest time of the winter
Valentine's day shows up
As I recover from the January blues
It got me more in the dumps
Because I have no one to give a present
Except for my dog
And every second adverstisement on TV
Is from a jewelly store
Reminding people of their significant other
That diamond you didn't give them at Christmas
And all the greeting card poets writing love sonnets
Will get their yearly cheques
As people try to tell their love one how much they love them
With someone else's words
But really, I could do my own If I had someone
However, I'll get over it
Though, it will take a long time to do so
I'll be writing a verse for my dearly-departed father
As the tears would rain further into March
Because then, it would be his birthday
And I wish we could celebrate together

Nothing can compensate for love lost and loved ones gone. So very well written and explicit in this fantastic poem that brough me tears and sad smiles

Birthdays and other special days are tough, when you've lost someone very dear. Thank you for sharing this stirring, beautifully expressed poem.
In many parts of the world, February is very cold. But it's getting quite warm in my city. Lovely to read your personal feelings about your dad. This poem is a beautiful reflection of family bonding. Felt the warmth you poured into it. Kudos!
