I have been black.
To long to know,
Racism is a fact.
And living to experience that,
From childhood.
Throughout my entire life.
Anyone who has a need...
To try with attempts to tell me,
From their point of view.
Racism to know it,
Has not been their experience.
Done to convince me of it.
Will not be a debate,
To initiate with me.
Escalating,
In a needless argument.
Discussing bigotry.
And a disguising...
Of ongoing,
Unconscious racial hatred.
Especially,
Initiated to start by those...
Who refuse to accept,
They too are black.
Although living,
In white neighborhoods.
With lives to live then say,
As if I should agree.
How blessed they are,
To live good and have it made.
Living away,
From people like me.
Refusing to accept reality!
Racism is such a debasing attitude. A fear of competition perhaps. Some of it is a mental illness, lytophobia...a fear of darkness.
I like your poem very much, great honesty in poetry! How finest and most pleasant to read this excellent poem from your thoughts, mind, heart and soul. I like the way you are yourself. Amazing! God's Blessings in Abundance
A unique expression of racist hatred in sober sound voice. Your every verse is full of experience that need to be attended and thought upon. A thoughtful poetry.
