Redecorating The Circle Of Life Poem by Susan Williams

Redecorating The Circle Of Life

Rating: 5.0

I lost my friend a week ago
I lost her in my living room
If you listen really really close
You can hear her calling for help
- but the cries are getting fainter.
We're tossing water bottles and food
Amongst the huge piles of new stuff.
Hope she makes it till we get the room redone.
She was an awfully good friend
- and dang, good friends are hard to find.

Good friends are hard to find....that's so true. When our friends leave, this realization strikes us very hard. I love the way you have driven home a very profound message in a lighthearted n humorous way. A huge 10 for this lovely write.

I had a bit of fun with this write, Nosheen, and I'm glad you received it in both a serious way and a lighthearted way. Thank you for the 10, my friend!

The title and the first few lines.....that is almost a set-up for a tragedy. There is a sadness, a tone of loss. Reading along and one gets a great surprise. With the shift in tone comes the humour. A great work, Susan. A perfect 10.

I am so glad you enjoyed this poem, Mj! ! ! ! I like a tweak in a poem, a step-to-the-side, a muffled giggle! And you are always so appreciative and receptive of these quirky poems for which I thank you very much, my friend! Thank you for the 10 as well.

Same thing happened to me yesterday! Mr Purry disappeared in my sun lounge. (That's a posh name for a permanent junk store) . I knew he was in there somewhere. I shouted his nick name, Hey You several times. Not a murmur. Then I saw a large cardboard box which had housed my printer. A black mass slowly emerged and struggled to get out. I had to lift him out in the end! So I'd look for any big boxes in your lounge, Susan. You never know. Your friend might have taken a nap in one! Or look for a Do not disturb sign. That's a dead giveaway! Very funny poem. First one read today.

Richard Wiodarski! ! ! I can almost picture you in a maid's uniform with a duster in your hand chuckling like mad! ! ! I am pleased to make my friends laugh- sometimes it's what gets us through a day! ! ! And I want my dear friends to get through their day with a smile in their heart- even if that day it is just one corner of their heart
