Sea After Tsunami(Epilogue) Poem by Nosheen Irfan

Sea After Tsunami(Epilogue)

Rating: 5.0

The sea is at peace
Resting in the sunset
Of a fateful day

The waves are somnolent
After running amok
In a sudden fit of rage

On the placated aqua face
Indecipherable are the stories
Buried deep within.

Most of us are akin to a sea or an ocean which has experienced so much trouble and turbulence in life but goes on to show a resilience every time it happens. Thanks for sharing. Indecipherable are the stories Buried deep within.

Nature can be violent and tragic but it always returns to a place of peace. Well written.

You have skillfully captured the evanescent power of the rage of the sea, and attributed it with almost a sense of sorrow for the damage inflicted by its power. Which raises the interesting point that we see in the massive fluctuations of the sea its fury and anger because of the destruction it renders, but is it not merely a factor of the contrast between our smallness and its greatness that imperils us in our relationship with the sea? Like the man who tries to befriend grizzly bears, and is destroyed by what they consider normal grizzly behavior. We are just no match for the fluctuations in behavior the awesome power of the sea is capable of. I LOVE the last stanza, so many tragic stories buried beneath the placid surface. Beautifully done, Nosheen. :) S

The last three lines sent a huge shiver through my soul- -the endings of your poems often have this startling crisp moment of truth that leaves your readers face to face with the universe. Remarkable poem, Nosheen. 10+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This is the calm after the storm, survivors need this respite. But your poem harbors fears which will never be dispelled because the same kind of storm will happen again - and again. Consolation only temporary will follow each storm, but the fear will always be there. But so will Y-O-U - giving hope to survivors by7your oresence and practice.

Hi Nosheen, The cam after the storm so beautifully painted. The mood of calmness created by the choice of the words and mute rhythm are amply enhanced by photograph you have added. Truly, The waves are somnolent, but do they not hide something vile, quite vile and violent under calm surface! ! ! ! ! Indecipherable are the stories buried deep within. Don't be deceived by the quiet facade.. Fantastic write Added to my fav poems, so I shall remember to come back.. 100+++++
