Leafiest foliage and the
greenest mountain
writing its secrets on her blank page, as
it reaches out to her inner turbulence
of her deep, deeper,
deepest defence,
She fights
to live
her gentle soul always ready
to forgive.
Slievenamon the certainty of a kindly comrade,
Of hope and truth that will never fade,
Ancient monument, shining colour of jade,
An orchestra of a divine dream and
a moment to dance,
Maybe a time for romance?
Bluer skies, virgin cloud
Her young mind shouting so loud
Bursting open into a flow of passion her
heart spilling of love,
Nature's magic force enticing her to look above
To see the sudden flight of a white dove
Now she feels of equal importance
She taps her feet and starts to dance
To a different beat,
Her desires are oxygen to breathe in nature's romance
The earth is enriching her spirit,
To give her a chance.
Skies are changing
And rearranging
Healing of the secret of her past anorexia
She lives through her emotions that scream
With joy, as now the days and nights play together
In her belief of living the eternal dream.
The lithe cadence of these verses and the images, perfectly coincide with its theme: youth, hope, jocundity, and all the aspects of probably the best period of one's life! A lovely poem!

The title of the poem helps to understand the poem. Teen age is the age of changes. Boys and girls are physically and mentally changed. Parents should keep an eye on the teen aged boys/girls and frankly and boldly should guide them to face the changes. A thoughtful poem by Hazel Durham.
Loved your poem in its entireity, but the last stanza the most, because it rang a bell! 'Skies are changing And rearranging Healing of the secret of her past anorexia She lives through her emotions that scream With joy, as now the days and nights play together In her belief of living the eternal dream.' - Beautiful!
Quotable line... Skies are changing And rearranging Healing of the secret of her past anorexia She lives through her emotions that scream With joy, as now the days and nights play together In her belief of living the eternal dream... Beautiful poem
i did not find anything amusing in the early (nor later) lines, as one commenter seemed to feel. and the poem seems to mix reality with symbolism; symbolism is not my bag and i don't 'do well' interpreting it at times. if the topic were not given (teenage) and anorexia weren't mentioned, i'd have little idea of the poem's meaning. but with those 'clues' i guess it is ok. :))))))) let me read another. bri (
