Sleepy Thoughts Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

Sleepy Thoughts

Rating: 5.0

Frosty shapes on windows rest,
Robin seeking food outside,
In my warm and cosy bed,
Beneath the covers thoughts in mind,
Soon to surface,
Face the day,
Feel the winter chill so near,
Christmas time is drawing close,
Longing to see your face so clear.
Dozing off to sleep again,
I dream of you,
That you are here,
I miss you so at Christmas time,
If only you could magically appear.

I remember as a young boy frost on the inside of the window! ! Lovely thoughts of your loved one.

Correction: The ache of the absence of a loved one is beyond seasons.

The sense of loss and winter chill.....they are so compatible with each other. Basically winters bring on a feeling of melancholy. But the absence of a loved one is beyond seasons I guess. Top marks!
